DREAM LABOR PRESS

Dream Labor Press is a collective self-publishing project founded by a group of Chinese female graphic designer-authors who are primarily based in the United States. Our work focuses on storytelling and fiction-making in the liminal space between places and identities.

By means of zines, artist books and other small publications, we play with objects, symbols and memories. We endeavor to communicate layered narratives that resonate with different walks of audiences and to push the boundaries of design.

We live in an age where attention is being plundered, and we are getting busier but have less time for ourselves. This project advocates a new way of life from a designer’s perspective by slowing down the pace to free ourselves from such distractions, enjoy life and bring new possibilities to design.

The designer compiled a year’s observations and designs through walking, inviting people to slow down, live in the present moment, and become focused.
